The owner is so welcoming, kids fed the chicken and played with the dogs. Kids did not want to leave. We had given a lovely recommendation for local dinner too.

Lots of things to love about this:
Beautiful quiet location
Very well fitted and presented huts - we were so surprised at how much was in it.
Really comfortable bed
Exceptionally clean toilet and shower room
Lovely little welcome pack of biscuits and milk and coffee pods
We loved that dogs were welcome and at no extra cost - thank you!
Shower was lovely and hot and good pressure
Owner was so helpful - we booked last minute as tired (been on road for long time) and he kindly booked us in at pub for dinner.

A busy town and lots of traffic.
A busy town and lots of traffic. Worth exploring, but I didn't have the time, other than looking at the old jail. Good mid-way stopping point if travelling further into Cornwall.
The hotel served a very good breakfast and the evening meal was well prepared: the lamb that I had was beautifully cooked. The options for puddings were mainly cake-based and personally, I found my meringue option a tad sweet (as one might expect) with no pouring cream to calm it down!

It’s looking tired but it’s the gateway to lots of other places. Plymouth is within reach maybe 40mins by car. The prison has the attraction of the museum with guided tours which are great fun The prison, now hotel is absolutely wonderful. Great gala night for new year with the best food ever. The Bodmin folk are so friendly and will advise on where to eat to suit your budget. The Eden project is a great trip to make even on a rainy day. There are do many places to suit any pocket don’t forget Looe such a pretty place

Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time.
Comfortable beds, and a great spacious bathroom.
Great breakfast options.
Would be great to have gluten free options in the room service menu.
The location of the hotel was excellent as it enabled us to walk to visit family living in Bodmin for a family event. The hotel of mum and dad was already fully booked!
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on the night of our arrival which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The cocktails went down a treat. The staff were a delight and very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfasts are not a buffet style event as you get in other hotels but need to be pre-ordered the night before. The poached eggs were cooked very nicely.
I don't know what we were expecting at this hotel but it exceeded all expectations. As it is a refurbished medieval jailhouse, I was skeptical, but this is a true luxury hotel with services to match. The food was quality pub fair and reasonable price. The 3-cell room was expertly air conditioned with unique lighting and spotlessly clean. We toured the hotel and found no expense spared in this fabulous old facility.
A charming rustic farmhouse in Cornwall. The farmhouse was well equipped and very comfortable for our family of four. The hosts were really helpful and friendly. The location is very private and in a lovely tranquil setting away from the main camp-site. Plenty of room for our two cars. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again if in this area. Easy drives to towns around Cornwall e.g. Looe, Polpero.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially our waitress Jane. The restaurant had a good selection of meals and had a lovely view over the golf course. There was a good choice of breakfast too. Service was very quick. There was a large comfortable lounge area too, again with views over the golf course. The hotel is in an excellent position for exploring Cornwall both North and South.
Beautifully renovated apartment In nice housing area. The layout of the apartment is very well designed and the space has wonderful natural light, good views out of the dorma windows. Kitchen well equipped. Very clean and comfy stay.
I wasn’t on holiday, it was a place to stay to be close in proximity to visit my dad at Bodmin Hospital. The apartment became my sanctuary. Thank you.
The property was spotlessly clean, the room was comfortable and had all of the facilities that you would expect of any guest accommodation. It is centrally located in a peaceful development, for access to all of Cornwall’s offerings. Also a short walk, around 20 minutes to Bodmin town centre where you will find plenty of pubs and restaurants. All in all, a great place to stay.
Located short walk from city bus stop, close to amenities and attractions in Bodmin. Appreciated the little extras provided by the host in addition to the usual tea and coffee that are provided by all B&Bs, Guest Houses and hotels. Our host was able to provide help with directions to local attractions which was appreciated.
Outstanding location, incredible views. Tentative & friendly owners / hosts.
We used this location as our base, with all local towns / villages such as Fowen, Padstow, Looe, Newquay being quite close by (15-30mins drive in most cases)
Local pubs were friendly and not too busy, though pre-booking a table is advised
It was perfect! the cottage is lovingly done up to the last detail it certainly looks to be a labor of love! everything from the fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining room, bedrooms the books, radios, movies in DVD, smart Tv, artwork everything you would need to settle down relax and explore lovely Cornwall!
After a long day of cycling across Cornwall I received a really warm welcome from the team, I might have been one of the few mid-week guests but I was really well looked after, nothing was too much trouble, and I had a really good evening meal, breakfast and the lodge was perfect.
It was the building that made us book Bodmin jail hotel and it didn't disappoint, we really loved how they have kept the old feel of a prison with a new feel of an hotel. Plus Bodmin is a central place to do some sightseeing of Cornwall from.
We had to book a one night stay because of the winds we had to leave our tent.
Everyone who worked at the hotel was wonderful.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely restful stay.
Brilliant location looking out onto Bodmin Moor. Local shops were only 15 mins drive away and Mick and Janine were very friendly hosts. The cottage was well appointed, clean and cosy.
Excellent hotel with really friendly, helpful staff. The room was excellent, immaculately clean and very comfortable. If I’m back in Cornwall again, I’ll make this my first choice
